Samsung Australia's mobile chief says that far from killing its Galaxy Tab 10.1, Apple's court case was almost a blessing in disguise that made the product a "household name".
This statement is probably a bit of a stretch. I live in Australia and I haven't heard a single person talk about the Galaxy Tab. Even amongst geeks. On the other hand, everyone that doesn't have an iPad already seems to want one for Christmas.
However, it's still an interesting point and there may be some truth to it.
I'd bet almost nobody knew Samsung had a tablet coming before the lawsuits, and now at least those few that still read newspapers do know the Galaxy Tab exists. Sometimes actions end up helping the competition.
How many people actually want to buy one is a different story.
